Playing Around with JamExam

Playing Around! Moving within the scale

Once you are comfortable with the sound of this scale, the notes are clean (no buzzing or muted notes) and your fingers are moving from one note to the next without a lot of effort, start experimenting by creating some phrases.

From our root note (clover and stars are interval number 1), start playing two and three note phrases.

Example: Using the Major Scale go from Interval #1 to 3 to 5 and back again. That is a Major Arpeggio and fits nicely against the backing track.

Approach the other scale positions in the key in the same way. With time and patience you will hear familiar lines from your favorite songs and hear how they are connect to each other on the fingerboard.
